A mosaiced mask & mantle, and rust dyed cape. These pieces were created using a variety of materials including dehydrated china-berries, unidentified nut husks, and rusted metal. These materials were gathered in New Orleans amidst the vast debris following Hurricane Ida. -

Repulsive Women - Christine Crook & Maggie Whitaker (22)
A Costume Design Driven theatre experiment inspired by Djuna Barnes’ Book Of Repulsive Women. This piece uses humor and exaggerated aesthetics to examine the way women are marginalized, dismissed, and made to feel grotesque in our bodies. The dance-like performance is paraded publicly through bars, and night-clubs with accompaniment by live opera singers. -
